Our History
the late 70's, a small piece of land on the edge of the Parco del Ticino, we encounter two strange groups: a young and curious nature lovers and an elderly with a history of peasants.
I first felt the need to "put your hands in the earth" to live and grow crops according to the natural rhythms, the other, driven by nostalgia, looking for a return to their past as farmers, land that had been leave the factory.
This meeting marks the birth of a small company that, thirty years later, he still believes it is important to keep and increase farmer knowledge, maintaining a direct relationship with nature and its cycles and blend in agriculture and in the context of the Parco del Ticino.
In 2010 the company has been certified as an organic producer (ICEA No. I1366), for all its products as an additional guarantee of their quality

In this way the production is quantitatively lower than the common, but of excellent quality. The plants feed on the only elements in the soil and gain strength. In our rice fields is not removed water to make herbicides to allow the survival of frogs.

Hazelnuts (Piemontese and Tonda Nostrana)
plant in 2000 and cultivated with natural methods, without any use of chemical fertilizers and insecticides. As with our other crops, the soil is completely covered with grass from weeds.

The fertility of the land is obtained by alternating with legumes and wheat (all organically grown, of course) that return nutrients to the soil that the rice needs.
Then the paddy is grown only one year at a 2 or 3 years on the same ground.

- The water that comes from other areas used by conventional agriculture?
No.
The water we use is derived directly Cavour from the channel and the channel Regina Elena and not from other fields or rice paddies.
thus the potential rate of pollution of Lake Maggiore is the same or Italian rivers.
Our entire farm is certified organic, is on the edge of the Natural Park of Ticino, and is surrounded by woods and rows of trees.
Even our rice fields not affected by the "phenomena of drift", ie products which could be used by other farmers, because it is protected by our other fields, or rows.
- How do you produce?

Our yields are half of those with traditional agriculture, about 20 Qt / Ha, but profitability is guaranteed to us by the highest price obtained for the quality of the product.
